2022 Celina Events You Don’t Want to Miss
Celina’s hometown pride, charming Downtown Square and full calendar of events make this city one of the most popular places to live in the DFW Metroplex. Following all of the fun in 2021, the city has officially released its calendar of 2022 Celina events. We can’t wait for all that’s planned!
2022 Celina Events
Friday Night Market
March 11-Nov. 4
Celina’s popular Friday Night Market returns for the year beginning March 11. These free-to-attend markets offer a great way to get outside, shop local, eat delicious food and listen to live music.
Friday Night Markets are held in Downtown Celina and offer a fantastic variety of vendors, with something for everyone. Live music rotates each month with various local performers from a range of genres. The market is held the first Friday of every month, March through November (6-9 p.m.)
Wine Crawl
March 26
This sip, shop and taste event gives participants the chance to sample wines at their favorite establishments around Downtown Celina while enjoying live music and special discounts! Stay tuned to the Life in Celina website for ticket info.
Easter Egg Hunt
April 16
The city has added an Easter Egg Hunt to its exciting lineup of 2022 Celina events. Details are still forthcoming – make sure to follow Life in Celina on Facebook or Instagram for additional information as we get closer to the big day!
Cinco de Mayo
May 7
Celina has one of the best Cinco de Mayo celebrations in the Metroplex! The annual festival is held at the Celina Downtown Historic Square and features a parade, traditional dances, amazing food, shopping, children’s activities and so much more.
Cajun Fest
May 14
Celina’s signature Cajun Fest returns for its tenth year! Highlights of this free festival include live music, a massive crawfish boil, a live gator show and local vendors. With an abundance of fun for the whole family, you won’t want to miss this jubilant celebration.
Movie Night on the Square
April 16, June 11, Aug. 13
Reminiscent of an outdoor drive-in theater, Celina’s free Movie Nights on the Square feature a massive blow-up movie screen with seating on the bleachers or lawn. The event also includes select vendors offering food and beverages for purchase. In addition, each movie night includes a free kids zone with rotating activities such as costumed characters, bounce houses, games and crafts.
Downtown shops and eateries will also be open for you to shop or grab a bite. Attendees are welcome (and encouraged) to order take-out from any local eatery for your enjoyment during the movie.
Summer Music Series
June 17, July 15, Aug. 19
Downtown Celina also hosts free live music during its Summer Music Series concerts. Each concert features a different genre, performed by unique local performers. Feel free to dance on The Square or bring chairs and blankets to get cozy while you listen to the music.
Splash & Blast
July 2
Splash & Blast is Celina’s annual celebration of our nation’s independence. This free, family-friendly event includes market and food vendors, live music, an all-ages kids zone and a fireworks show! The kids zone also features gigantic water slides and water games.
Oktoberfest
Oct. 8
The fifth annual Celina Oktoberfest will celebrate German culture in true Texas style. Enjoy authentic food, a bountiful selection of imported and locally brewed craft beers, music, dancing, contests and other special activities.
Troubadour Festival
Oct. 15
Following the successful inaugural event in 2021, Troubadour Festival will return to Celina on Oct. 15. Troubadour Festival highlights the best in Texas barbecue and Texas music. Head to Old Celina Park for some mouth-watering BBQ and fantastic musical acts!
Beware! of the Square
Oct. 22
Celina is known as the Halloween Capital of North Texas thanks to this incredible event. Beware! of the Square is the perfect Halloween festival, featuring food trucks, live music, a flash mob dance, movie showing, trick-or-treating and so much more.
Christmas on the Square
Nov. 30
This free event in Celina’s Historic Downtown Square offers families a charming, small-town Christmas celebration reminiscent of a Hallmark movie. Experience the wonder the season brings by partaking in this signature holiday festival with neighbors, friends and family.
