Why Your Kids Will Love Prosper ISD

Posted In: Education

Mustang Lakes is proud to be served by the highly-acclaimed Prosper Independent School District! Prosper ISD is ranked the No. 1 school district in the area and considered among the best school districts in Texas.

Prosper ISD is more than just its academic rankings, however. From its acclaimed extracurriculars and programs to its state-of-the-art facilities, it’s easy to see why both kids and parents love Prosper ISD.

About Prosper ISD

Prosper ISD boasts an impressive 15 to 1 student to teacher ratio and has an overall ranking of excellence from the Texas Education Agency. The district received an “A” rating in student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps between different populations of students.

Prosper High School boasts an impressive 99% graduation rate and more than 20 Advanced Placement courses.

Prosper ISDAcademic Programs

Prosper ISD students rave about the impressive array of interactive classroom experiences. The district offers 137 secondary CTE courses across 14 programs of study.

Middle school students are able to choose tracks of interest to guide their course selection, such as STEM, architectural design, arts, health sciences, engineering, entrepreneurship, business and so much more.

Prosper High students have access to a full broadcast studio, medical tech lab, a mock courtroom and more. The impressive athletic facilities include a stadium that seats 2,000 and an indoor practice facility.

Extracurriculars

Students have many athletic programs and clubs to choose from at Prosper ISD. According to the district, 80% of K-12 PISD students are enrolled in a Fine Arts program. Students as young as elementary aged have opportunities to explore the arts, including the district’s revered Suzuki Violin program, which is housed at Mustang Lakes’ on-site Prosper ISD school, Sam Johnson Elementary.

The Prosper High Eagles have a long history of state championships in football and golf, with playoff contenders in a variety of other sports, extra-curricular and academic competitions!

On-Site Elementary School

Mustang Lakes is thrilled to be home to Prosper ISD’s newest elementary school, Sam Johnson Elementary. The school, which opened in 2020, is the 12th elementary school in Prosper ISD.

Named after a former Texas congressman and war hero, Sam Johnson Elementary has implemented multiple traditions as a way to mark the congressman’s legacy, including a “Johnson Jubilee” on Feb. 12, the day the Air Force veteran was released after being a prisoner of war in Vietnam for seven years, and the S.A.M. Award, which is awarded to students each month for Scholarly, Accomplished or Motivated excellence at school.

These are just a few of the many reasons we know your kids will love Prosper ISD. At Mustang Lakes, our community is designed to engage the whole family, from our fun lifestyle events to our world-class amenities.
