DFW Spring Events Near Mustang Lakes
Spring has sprung in the Metroplex! With the gorgeous weather and bluebonnets in bloom, it’s a great time to plan a family outing. Mustang Lakes’ prime location in Celina near both Prosper and McKinney puts you close to the beloved festivals and events taking place this spring.
Check out a few of the fun DFW spring events we are looking forward to this season.
ManeGait LIVE! at the ‘Gait
Saturday, April 29
Noon-8 p.m.
3160 N. Custer Rd. McKinney TX 75071
Located just down the road from Mustang Lakes, ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship’s LIVE! At the ‘Gait returns April 29 for a full day of family fun! The country fair portion of the event takes place from Noon-7 p.m. and features inflatables, face painting, carnival games, pony meet-and-greet, a petting zoo, food & drinks for purchase, and so much more. Entry to the fair is $5 per person and kids 2 and under get in free.
The fair day concludes with an exciting concert at ManeGait’s covered riding area. The concert features performances by Isaac Hoskins (as seen on Yellowstone!), Maylee Thomas Band, and Drake White. Ticket concerts are on sale now for $25 general admission, $10 for kids 12 and under (kids under 2 get in free), and $100 for the VIP Experience, which includes premier seating with a Happy Hour that includes complimentary beer, wine, and appetizers.
McKinney Arts in Bloom Festival

Downtown McKinney
McKinney’s beloved Arts in Bloom takes place in the Historic Downtown Square. Featuring more than 120 juried artists and a Local Artist Village set up on the tree-lined streets surrounding the McKinney Performing Arts Center, the three-day celebration showcases performance artists, musicians, Texas wineries, and food vendors.
The event also features a hands-on interactive area for children, the Kids Creation Station, where young Picasso’s can learn about art processes and create their own masterpieces.
Arts is Bloom takes place 5-10 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday, 12-5 p.m. on Sunday.
Celina Cajun Fest
Saturday, May 13
2-9 p.m.
Downtown Celina
Crawfish tickets go on sale beginning March 31 for Celina’s signature Cajun Fest! One of the largest crawfish boils in Texas, Cajun Fest also features a live alligator show, local vendors selling food and drinks, a large kids zone area with carnival rides and inflatables, and live music, including Grammy Award-winning country music artist Diamond Rio.
