Since the beginning of the year, construction has been underway on a new $1.1 billion, 1,800-home master-planned community in Celina, which sits north of U.S. Highway 380 on the northern frontier of the region.
The 682-acre community, called Mustang Lakes, sits within Celina’s city limits (although it also sits in Prosper ISD) and will bring 1,800 homes ranging from $300,000 to more than $1 million, Matt Alexander, vice president for Dallas-based Cambridge Cos., told the Dallas Business Journal.
“We tried to start the project in 2006, but we couldn’t get it developed until recently because there was no water or sewer available to the main tract of land,” Alexander told me.
