Friday Night Market
Friday, April 8
Following the weather-related cancellation of what was supposed to be the first market of the year in March, the Celina Friday Night Market officially returns on Friday, April 8, in Downtown Celina! These free-to-attend markets offer a great way to get outside, shop local, eat delicious food and listen to live music.
Friday Night Markets are held in Downtown Celina and offer a fantastic variety of vendors, with something for everyone. Live music rotates each month with various local performers from a range of genres. Details for each market can be found by visiting Life in Celina TX on Facebook.
McKinney Arts in Bloom
Art and wine pair perfectly together at Downtown McKinney’s Arts in Bloom. The festival features over 120 juried artists and a Local Artist Village set up on the tree-lined streets surrounding the McKinney Performing Arts Center.
The streets of Downtown McKinney come alive with fascinating sights and sounds as fine artists, performance artists, musicians, Texas wineries and food vendors take part in the three-day celebration. There’s also a hands-on interactive area for children, the Kids Creation Station, where young Picassos can learn about art processes and create their own masterpieces.
Saturday, April 9
This fun egg hunt takes place along the nature trail of Frisco Commons! Egg hunters can scout for eggs in small groups at a comfortable pace through the beautiful trees.
You can also take your photo with the Easter bunny and there will be face painters and Frisco community partners on hand to discuss conservation, nature, recycling, and more.
Recommended ages are 4-9 years old. Tickets are required to participate in the egg hunt; get tickets to Nature Eggsplorers.
Cinco de Mayo
Saturday, May 7
The annual Cinco de Mayo festival celebrates Mexican culture with delicious food, live music, folkloric dances and a variety of vendors. The event also features a parade, scholarship presentation and an art contest open to Celina High School students. Entries to the art contest are due on April 25 – students interested in participating can message the Cinco de Mayo Celina Facebook page for more information.
Saturday, May 14
The largest and most popular Celina event, Cajun Fest, returns for its 10th year! Country music star John Michael Montgomery will be this year’s headliner with special guests Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble and Nik Parr & The Selfless Lovers.
The event also features a crawfish boil, kid zone, two live gator shows, food trucks, drinks and much more. While the event is free to the public, tickets for crawfish meals will be sold in advance, which includes 3 pounds of crawfish, corn and potatoes. Tickets will go on sale beginning March 31 at $20 per ticket or $30 per ticket day of the event.
