New North Texas Healthcare Facilities Near Mustang Lakes

Posted In: Area News

Celina and Prosper have experienced monumental growth over the past decade and the healthcare industry is taking note. Construction began on Celina’s first major hospital at the end of January, and a new Children’s Health Specialty Care Center also opened in Prosper last month.

At Mustang Lakes, we’re thrilled for the new North Texas healthcare facilities available to our homeowners.

Pediatric Care in Prosper

Located at the intersection of the Dallas North Tollway and US 380 just 15 minutes away from Mustang Lakes, Children’s Health Specialty Care Center in Prosper is now open and delivering pediatric care for children and families in Collin and Denton counties.

Children’s Health is the eighth largest pediatric health care provider in the nation and the leading pediatric health care system in North Texas. The three-floor specialty center offers a variety of services including the Children’s Health Andrews Institute, which provides advanced musculoskeletal, sports medicine, fracture, and concussion care.

The facility also includes the Children’s Health PM Pediatric Urgent Care location and a large, multi-specialty pediatric clinic including urology, cardiology, pulmonology, general surgery, neurology, gastroenterology, and ENT/audiology.

“We are excited about this new addition to our support of this growing area,” said Christopher Durovich, president and CEO of Children’s Health, in a Children’s Health press release. “This new center is an important next chapter in our ongoing promise to the families of North Texas to provide the right care, at the right time, in the right place to make their lives better.”

Methodist Health System in Celina

Construction on Celina’s first hospital, Methodist Celina Medical Center, is well underway. Located at the corner of Dallas Parkway and FM 428, Methodist Health System has planned a 200,000-square-foot, five-story hospital and medical office building.

The $200 million facility will include 30 medical-surgical beds, 8 ICU beds, 12 emergency department beds, 3 operating rooms – including a daVinci surgical robot and shell space for an additional operating room – a cardiac catheterization lab and 2 procedure rooms, 4 labor and delivery rooms, 2 C-section rooms, and 10 postpartum suites.

Additionally, the hospital will provide cardiovascular and cancer care, women’s services, orthopedics and robotic surgery.

Methodist Celina Medical Center is anticipated to open in 2025.

Scottish Rite for Children in Celina

Another world-renowned leader in pediatric care is also expected to expand into Celina. Last summer, Scottish Rite for Children purchased 76 acres of land at the Dallas North Tollway and Collin County Outer Loop.

The original Scottish Rite facility is located in Dallas and two other locations have since opened in Frisco. Timing for their Celina location has not yet been revealed, but we are excited that Mustang Lakes families will have another leader in pediatric care located close to home.
