New Businesses Coming Near Mustang Lakes
Not long ago, H-E-B announced they were bringing a new grocery store to McKinney less than 15 minutes away from Mustang Lakes. The area surrounding our master-planned community is developing quickly as more people make their move to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Whole Foods
Another beloved grocery store is moving into McKinney about 10 minutes away from Mustang Lakes. Whole Foods is anticipated to break ground this year at West Grove, a 600,000-square-foot retail, restaurant and entertainment destination at the southeast corner of US 380 and Custer Road.
Additional plans for West Grove include a neighboring entertainment venue called The Hub, which will feature a stage, an event lawn and surrounding retail and restaurants. We can’t wait to watch this new retail destination take shape!
Target
Target fans, rejoice! The retail giant is coming to the Gates of Prosper just 13 minutes from Mustang Lakes. A 135,000-square-foot Target store is expected to open in 2023.
Situated at the north corners of Preston and US 380, the Gates of Prosper shopping center is home to a number of restaurants and retailers including Burlington, Chick-fil-A, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Kirkland’s, Starbucks, Walmart and more.
New Celina Hospitals
The city of Celina will also soon be getting its first hospitals. Earlier this year, Methodist Health System announced plans to build a new hospital at the southeast corner of the Dallas North Tollway and FM 428 – about 12 minutes from Mustang Lakes.
Methodist plans to break ground later this year on the five-story, 200,000-square-foot project, with an expected opening date in early 2025.
Celina Regional Medical Center is also planned for a 13-acre site at the northeast corner of Dallas Parkway and Punk Carter Parkway about 14 minutes from Mustang Lakes.
The Silos
A new distillery and entertainment destination is planned in Downtown Celina. Located near Rollertown Beerworks, a pair of unused grain silo towers are getting transformed into “The Silos,” a restaurant and whiskey and wine bar. Featuring a large patio and upscale lounge, The Silos will serve up spirits, beers, wines, brick oven pizzas, burgers, tacos and charcuterie boards.
The Silos is expected to open this year at 300 N Oklahoma Dr. – 13 minutes from Mustang Lakes!
